CARE BETWEEN VISITS

Good care starts with the right question.

WINDOW CARE GUIDE

How often should windows be cleaned?

There is no single schedule for every property. Exposure and the way you use your space matter more than a fixed calendar.

  • Look for pollen, road dust, sprinkler marks and reduced clarity.
  • Exterior glass often needs attention before protected interior glass.
  • Storefronts and high-traffic entrances may need more frequent care than quieter rooms.
  • Share your window count and surroundings with Vista to discuss one-time or ongoing care.

WINDOW CARE GUIDE

Screen care without damage

Screens collect dust and pollen that can find their way back onto clean glass. Gentle handling helps protect the mesh and frame.

  • Check for tears, brittle mesh and bent frames before removal.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions; stop if a screen does not release easily.
  • Use a soft brush and gentle rinsing where the manufacturer permits it—not a pressure washer.
  • Let screens dry before refitting and keep track of which opening each belongs to.

Hard-water spots or cloudy glass?

Marks on the surface are different from moisture inside a sealed unit. The cause determines what cleaning can realistically achieve.

  • Note whether marks are outside, inside or between panes.
  • Keep sprinklers directed away from windows to reduce repeated mineral deposits.
  • Avoid blades, abrasive pads and strong chemicals on unknown glass or coatings.
  • Persistent mineral buildup needs an assessment; etching and failed seals may not be repairable through cleaning.

Preparing your property for window care

A little preparation creates a safer, clearer work area without asking you to do the cleaning first.

  • Move fragile objects away from the windows and clear accessible work areas.
  • Tell Vista about pets, locked gates, damaged panes and special glass coatings.
  • Leave high or difficult access to trained professionals; do not climb to take photos.
  • Photograph the whole window and a close-up from a safe position, then include the address and scope in your enquiry.

Some marks need a closer look.

For persistent stains or cloudy panes, start with a glass-condition review.
